Happy Monday, everyone! Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. Though I've been quiet on the blog-front, I've been busy writing and brainstorming behind the scenes. Oh, and scheduling appearances at local author events! If you're in the Bluffton, Indiana area, I'd love to have you join myself and several… Continue reading Local Author Event This Week
My picture-based blog series, aimed at reminding us all just how sweet romance can be, continues with example #4 : Although, kissing in the rain with no umbrella works just fine too... 😉

It seems I left the time off this post originally! I will be speaking at the Auburn Library from 6:30-8pm Tuesday, August 4th. Hope to see you there!
Happy Monday, everyone! Wow, I can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by. And while the blog may have been a bit more quiet than usual, there has been a ton going on behind the scenes with my novel writing.
So excited about my upcoming September 15th release of HER UNEXPECTED DETOUR (the first in a new contemporary romance series from Entangled) that I can hardly stand it!
But before that, I have a fun event coming up tomorrow. The Auburn, Indiana library branch has invited me to come and speak about writing romance in honor of August being “Read a Romance Month”. I was thrilled and humbled both to receive the request, and can’t wait to chat a bit about my writing process and inspirations. And I may just share an excerpt or two from a few of my books…including my upcoming release. 😉
If you’d like to come out…

Sharing my love of gardening on the KAChicks blog today. Swing by and take a read/listen, won’t you?
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Kyra here to introduce our next blog series. While we were sad to see our Flash Fiction series “What if you Fly” come to an end, the chicks and I are changing it up a bit for the next few weeks to offer a glimpse into our daily lives. And what better way to do that than to offer you some “Tips from the Chicks.”
See, away from our keyboards and author
mugshots photos, we’re seven normal chicks who share a lot in common with many of you. Well, okay–normal miiiiight be stretching it a bit for a few of us. LOL But at the end of the day, we’re pumping our own gas and cooking our own meals just like everyone else. (And some of those meals aren’t even burnt to a crisp.)
So kick back and enjoy these homespun tips as you get to learn…

So thrilled to have the amazing Kristen Lamb sharing with us on our #KAChicks site! A must read!
Hello everyone, Kyra here having a total fan girl moment as I introduce this week’s Honorary Chick. While writing may be in and of itself a solitary process, I don’t know anyone who spends their entire writing journey living inside a box, cut off from the world. Most of us, at one time or another, seek out help. Advice. Maybe even a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to vent to. In my early writing days, another local author repeatedly mentioned one name that she believed every new writer should seek out: Kristen Lamb.
Check out her blog, this gal said. Kristen’s got great advice, she said.
While both statements are true, they don’t do justice to the Warrior Writers blog or its author—who, by the way, is also the founder of the grass roots “We Are Not Alone” (W.A.N.A) online writer support group. To do that…

My dear friend (and amazing author) Judy Post is joining us over on the #KAChicks today. Wont’ you please stop by and say hello?
Hi all, it’s Kyra here to welcome to our KickAss Blogger for the week: Judith Post. Judy, as I know her, is one of my favorite bloggers. And okay, I may be a little biased on this one since we both hail from NE Indiana. 😉 Her blog Myths & Musings is a terrific, down-to-earth site that captures the essence of writer-dom. Many of her posts focus on the goals, achievements, and day-to-day obstacles she (and so many of us) faces in her daily writing. When she comes across a book she loves or an author she’s connected with, those posts hit her blog as well. And Twitter? Well, Judy’s the queen of writer support and RT’s. She’s even a founding member of a local writing group called the Scribes, which helps writers hone their craft and find their “voices”. By the way, Judy writes totally kickass urban legend…

Oh, man–if you haven’t been following, be sure to go back and catch up! Gemma’s latest scene is full throttle!
Olivia had been seated only moments in Dottie’s Dinner when she heard her name shouted from across the room. A frightened, determined look on his face, David strode across the room.
He lurched to a stop at her side. “We’ve got to go.”
Concerned about his agitated state, Liv craned her neck to see around his broad shoulders. “Where’s Mazie?”
“They’ve got her. I thought we had time, but they’ve escalated the timetable.” He grabbed her arm and tugged her to her feet. “Please, you have to help me.”
She jerked her arm from his grasp. “David, you aren’t making sense. Who’s got her? Your parents?”
“Those weren’t my parents. They were my guards on this planet.” Glancing away, he dragged a hand through his hair, leaving the auburn waves looking disheveled, leaning toward outright crazy. His tone was low but sincere. “I thought I’d have time to ease…

The Chick are still out in full force! More clips from the romance conference going on now in Dallas. Recognize any of these names? My guess is you will… Enjoy!
