Hello, everyone! Tuesday Traditions is back in full swing again, so if you’ve enjoyed our author encounters then you’ll love what we have in store for you. This week we welcome back a wonderful author and all around lovely lady who lives only a handful of hours from Indiana–Cd Brennan! Cd is here today to share a bit about herself and her latest book A World Apart, the second book in her Love Where You Roam New Adult (NA) romance series.
- Name (or pen name): Cd Brennan
- State (or country) you call home: Michigan, USA
- Genre(s) you write: New Adult romance, Mainstream fiction
- Most recent release title: A World Apart (April, 2014 by Lyrical Press, romance imprint for Kensington Publishing Corp.)
The story revels in those “first days” of falling in love, the wonderment and confusion, especially when it comes to individuals from very different cultures. AWA, like the rest of the Love Where You Roam series is a great beach read, humorous and light-hearted. Not too much angst or drama, but plenty of characterization and action and watching what happens when worlds collide.
- Of your most recent storyline, pick one character that makes you laugh. Tell us who they are and give us an example of why they tickle your funny bone:
I just finished a mainstream fiction piece with the working title, The Longest Road Out, about an Irish rugby player who has been busted for prohibited substances in Europe and ends up in the US playing for a small local club in Michigan. It started out as a romance, but somehow evolved so there’s plenty of sexiness, but a subplot now. Like Rocky. Yo Adrian! In that book, there is a secondary young buck Scotsman who has more balls than brains. And that in itself makes me laugh! He’s a passionate young thing, but doesn’t think things out very well, including when he opens his mouth. He’s always trying new power breakfast shakes, mixing different ingredients like spinach, raw egg, peanut butter and blueberries, then throws in some raw oatmeal. LOL
- Favorite footwear: sneakers, pumps, or boots?: Flip-flops, I’m half Australian.
- If you had a quiet day to yourself at home–no work, no deadlines, no drama–how would you spend your day?:
Sleep in (with two little ones, I never get the chance) and then a leisurely coffee on the back deck. I’d take the dog for a walk and read an entire book. Go out to eat in a nice café so I didn’t have to cook (I hate cooking). It’s summer or I’d take a warm bath and soak…but since it’s nice outside, I’d treat myself to a massage and pedicure. My toes look dastardly! End the evening out on the front porch with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Do you see the theme here? RELAX. I’m on the go constantly with work and my boys, keeping them busy, and since they’re little, waiting on them constantly. The day would be just for me – peace and quiet.
- Name something that annoyed you in a book you’ve read recently:
Bad or barely-there editing! Great editing can take that great book up to fabulous. It’s totally underestimated. If I pick up a book that hasn’t been edited, or barely at all, I’ll put it back down again. It hurts my eyes.
- Give us one of your favorite motivational/inspirational quotes?:
Thanks for coming back and sharing once again with us, Cd! And if you ever get that magical day to yourself, enjoy. Little ones can be exhausting (but always so worth it) and cooking? Well, I’m with you on that as well. LOL

Blurb from A World Apart:
She left home to find herself…and found love along the way.
Lizzy travels to Scotland to track down her roots, hoping where she comes from will help her figure out where she needs to go. An Aussie girl through and through, tough as nuts and a bit wild, she believes there’s nothing so wonderful as a world seen through wine-tinted glasses…
…until she meets Hottie Hamish, Bridge of Allan’s most eligible bachelor.
Hamish is Lizzy’s polar opposite in every way. He’s serious, driven, and motivated, focused on becoming the youngest associate professor at the Glasgow School of Art. But he’s hiding a social phobia behind his gruff exterior that makes it almost impossible to connect with people…
…until he meets Lost Lizzy, all sunshine and lightness, an Australian beauty with the proverbial heart of gold.
Where they come from may be worlds apart, but atop a Scottish Munro, they begin to realize where they’re going is best traveled side by side.
